Fethiye
Fethiye and its surroundings hold Türkiye’s most recognisable view: the enclosed lagoon at Ölüdeniz, Butterfly Valley, and the paragliders coming off Babadağ. The Lycian Way passes through here.
There is far more here than a beach holiday: Saklıkent gorge, the abandoned stone village of Kayaköy, the ancient cities of Tlos and Pınara, the rock tombs at Dalyan and the turtle beach at İztuzu are all half-day trips.
Fethiye itself is a working town rather than a resort strip, and its Tuesday market and fish hall are the centre of local life.
