Kemer

Kemer sits where the Taurus mountains drop straight into the sea, surrounded by pine forest. The beaches are pebble and the water is notably clear — a different holiday from Antalya’s wide sandy resorts.

Outside the town itself, Göynük, Beldibi, Kiriş, Çamyuva and Tekirova each have their own character; Tekirova is within walking distance of the three ancient harbours at Phaselis.

The natural flames of Yanartaş (the Chimaera), the ancient city of Olympos and the Göynük canyon are the best-known half-day trips. The northern end of the Lycian Way starts here.
