Side

Side is one of the few resorts built directly on top of an ancient city. The columns of the Temple of Apollo still stand at the tip of the peninsula and remain the centre of town at sunset. The neighbouring Kumköy and Sorgun beaches hold the larger all-inclusive resorts.

The town itself is walkable: the Roman theatre, the colonnaded street and the harbour fit comfortably into one afternoon. That is what distinguishes Side for guests who want to leave the resort without committing to a long drive.

Manavgat waterfall and market are 10 km away; Aspendos and Köprülü Canyon are half-day trips.

When to go

The season runs May to October. The ancient sites are more comfortable before mid-June or after September.
