Across Türkiye

Thermal Destinations

Thermal spas are the strongest reason to travel in Türkiye out of season: Afyonkarahisar, Pamukkale-Karahayıt, Yalova, Bursa-Çekirge and Kızılcahamam all have thermal hotels running at full capacity through the winter.

Afyonkarahisar has the country’s largest concentration of thermal hotels and is reachable by road from the major cities. Pamukkale combines the thermal water with a cultural trip — the travertine terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis.

Thermal programmes are usually sold as three- or four-night midweek packages, and they are the most cost-effective off-season option for corporate and association groups.

Highlights

  • The thermal hotels of Afyonkarahisar
  • The Pamukkale travertines and Hierapolis
  • The red springs at Karahayıt
  • Yalova Termal
  • The Çekirge springs in Bursa
  • Kızılcahamam

When to go

October to April is the main thermal season.

Getting there

It depends on the region: Afyon by road, Denizli Çardak (DNZ) for Pamukkale, and Istanbul connections for Yalova and Bursa.
